Plastic mold maintenance and modifications

In our workshop, we ensure the maintenance and modifications of your tooling, whether manufactured by NOCENTE or not.

Mold maintenance for plastic injection is a complex process requiring careful planning, technical expertise, and well-defined procedures. By following these steps and remaining attentive to critical points, it is possible to guarantee reliable production cycles, high-quality parts, and prolonged mold lifespan.

Any mold component showing excessive uses or damage must be repaired or replaced. This can include polishing or charmilles grain restoration, welding on joint planes, or replacing elements such as inserts, ejectors, cores, or cooling channels.

The modifications applied to the tooling can include:

  • Defect corrections: if part defects are identified, such as weld marks, burrs, or deformations, modifications can be made to the mold cavities to resolve these issues and improve the quality of the produced parts.
  • Design Optimization: modifications can be made to the mold design to improve material distribution, reduce molding stresses, and enhance the overall performance of the injection process.
  • Feature Additions: if new features are required for the produced parts, such as inserts, markings, or assemblies, modifications can be made to the mold cavities to integrate these additional elements.
